Atelier 35 is a project space powered by Larisa Crunțeanu and Xandra Popescu.
The profile of the space can be traced back to a concept authored by the Romanian Artists Union. This concept materialized as a national network of spaces dedicated to experimental art and young artists. The figure "35" suggests what would have been considered at the time the conventional limit of youth.
Currently, Atelier 35 cultivates an interest in socially and politically engaged projects, peripheral practices and collaboration.
Larisa Crunțeanu has studied Photography and Moving Image and is currently a PhD candidate at the National Arts University of Bucharest. She lives and works in Bucharest.
Xandra Popescu has studied Dramaturgy at the National Film and Theatre University in Bucharest and has a background in Political Science. She lives and works in Berlin and Bucharest.

Each Romanian citizen over 18yo contributes with 8.1 Lei to the 2014 EU Parliament elections budget. Each Romanian citizen contributes financially to shrift some politicians to Bruxelles.
On the evening of May 23rd, nine artists-candidates will be presented in Atelier 35. One of them will be present in the Belgium capital when the Romanian politicians will be swearing into the European Parliament. And she will do something.
Their action on May 23rd does (not) incite.
An action developed during the Performance Art Lab coordinated by Ioana Păun with the support of UNATC and Atelier 35.
