The workshops entitled “Personal selection” organised by Galeria Posibilă in 2014, 2015 and 2017, resulted in a collection of books made by the participants. With 2000 anonymous photographies, xerox machines and paper, the participants became authors. Hence, each book is individual, the process relying on selecting, matching and arranging the photographs following a narrative thread. The books include, besides the photocopies, the texts written by Nicoleta Moise (artist), Jean-Lorin Sterian (writer, artist and performer) and Talia Delgado (independent journalist). The project started in 2009 with “Petite Histoire” and continued in 2014 with “Not only the seaside, but I like the mountains too!”, the master project of Nicoleta Moise. Afterwards, “Personal selection. Book workshop” enables cultivation of attention and curiosity towards personal archive, but also towards possible discoveries through anonymous photographies. Moreover, this type of photography becomes known for its aesthetic and its rediscovered value given by each author, also generating new creative productions. We invite the workshop participants to pick up their books and the visitors to look into them at the gallery. This year’s project was realised with the support of The Administration of National Cultural Fund. The books were printed at Fabrik. During NAG, Biblioteca de galerie, which contains mostly artist books, photography and landscape theory, as well as other publications necessary for artists, is also open to the public.
