Contemporan is a new space that fusions two business concepts: hair salon and art gallery. Its owners, a hairstylist and a painter, are great art and sculpture lovers, so the starting point of the project was to combine the two passions in a salon. In the design of the salon styling stations, Contemporan was inspired by the paintings in museums. So, big wood frames enclose the mirrors, pursuing the effect to the customer when relaxing in front of the mirror, to perceive herself or himself as a framed work of art.

On September 30, 2022 starting with 7 p.m., we are waiting for you at the opening of the exhibition Phases of the Moon. The exhibition will take place during: September 30, November 30, 2022 at Contemporan Hair Space, Biserica Amzei 22 street, 1 district, Bucharest. The event is part of the White Night of the Galleries and during the three days it will be open as follows: Friday-Saturday, between 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. , Sunday 16-20 p.m. The rest of the time, it can be visited between 12 p.m. and 8 a.m. The night star, the mythological symbol of women, Selene, Diana, Artemis, Bindis, Luna, Phoebe, in ancient mythologies and cultures is represented by a woman ... In the collective imagination, she is attached to women, humors and feminine fluids. The star of the day-the massive, balanced and orderly, Apollonian Sun is intended for men. Modest, the moon is associated with the feminine, with the state ironically called lunatic, crazy, fantastic, illogical, ovarian. But we lunatic artists, ovarian ones, draw our strength from weakness. A complete tour of the moon around the earth lasts as long as a cycle of life, and the distance is that between an egg and its disappearance monthly, annually, after decades, after the time of the sun and nothingness. The Big Bang, the Milky Way, Earth, the time of the egg and the time of human and huwomen. From one egg we all incarnate, under the moon we spend our nights. In 28 days Selene completes her tour around the earth, around the womb, of life. Through the power of attraction, the moon pulls the ocean out of its place that it exerts on the earth, it moves the days and nights - the oceans, as it revolves in an ellipse constantly, immemorially around the Earth. The phases of the moon are symbolized by the menstrual cycle that brings life, or vice versa: from a primordial egg, and not from a rib, humanity came to life. Ovulation, expulsion of the unfertilized ovum, bleeding, humors, coming together, birth and cessation of bleeding, human ages, menopause, and above all these, imperturbable in her orbit, the moon continues her cycle of life. This exhibition was supposed to take place last year, in 2021, on the White Night of the Gelerior, but due to the lockdown instituted right then, it was no longer possible. In the meantime, artists have left this exhibition, others have entered, the place has also changed, changes like life, like the tides, and now we are in the space where, when we debuted, we held the vernissages on full moon days. Contemporan Hair Space welcomes artists for this exhibition who will tell about their meetings with the moon, with the mothers and women in their lives, on the night of the last square.
