Beethoven, our contemporary! In 2020, we celebrate the author of the most famous musical sentence of all times – the classical composer whose works are the most widely performed across the world.
On Ludwig van Beethoven's 250th anniversary, the Goethe-Institut Bucharest and its partners pay homage to the greatest “star” of classical music.
This exhibition aims at celebrating Beethoven in ways different from listening to his music. The starting point is a sentence of the Fidelio opera libretto, which is reinterpreted in a contemporary context: Whoever you may be, I want to rescue you! (Leonore, act II, Fidelio)
The contemporary individual and society, the world, empathy, fear, common welfare, as well as the social and cultural situation are explored via drawings.
The exhibition is a composition on several levels which include drawings and collages.
A supplement of the 22 Magazine will be the exhibition catalogue, as well as its social extension – a way through which everybody will be able to view Dan Perjovschi's works.
