Rope Street Museum
Str. Cerbului Nr. 13

0749027595

Our Museum is situated on 13th Cerbului Street, right at one of the ends of Rope Street (Strada Sforii in Romanian, pronunciation: [ˈstrada ˈsforij], and Fadengasse in German) - which is the narrowest street in Romania and the third narrowest street in Europe. When visiting us, you will find: an Art Gallery, always hosting beautiful art by local or international artists; a historic part, filled with photos and information about the Old Town of Brașov; lots of unique and hand made souvenirs, made by local artisans; and also a cosy cafe where you can enjoy a cup of coffee, tea or maybe a glass of wine - and where there are always some homemade treats waiting for you. In case you are on a walking tour or on a tight schedule, we can also prepare something cold or hot “to go”, and let you continue your adventures of discovering Transilvania. Whether you are interested in art, in history or you simply need to refresh and recharge, come visit us - you certainly won’t regret it!

We are building BertaLand with art and books!

Local artists, writers and artisans donated their art, books and products as building brick for our dream: to build a home for kids, seniors and animals! The road is long, the estimated budget is huge, but every step, every donation, every little bit of help gets us closer to fulfilling this dream! For two weeks, Rope Street Museum will be hosting donated art work, and the funds obtained from selling them go 100% towards BertaLand's first steps in the world! Together we can make this world a better place, step by step, project by project! #BertaLand #DreamBIG #BeTheChange #ArtWithHeART

We are proud to announce the First Year Anniversary of #Soundcards. A full year's body of work neatly summarized in one Special Bundle Pack - a collection of music coming from the artists directly to the listener. This is the result of the collective effort made possible by the Fine Sounds community in Brasov, Romania. What's the deal with #Soundcards? A Souncard is a physical support in the form of a classic postcard made into a innovative way to release local music. This project is aiming to revive an old means of communication and supports collaboration between musicians and graphic artists. If you've heard of us but never knew what we are all about, or maybe wanted to reach out but never knew how this is your chance to get in touch and come say "Hello!". Check us out at NAG, in Brasov, on 11 October in selected locations.
