The event is part of WORK IN PROCESS, the fourth edition of Baroque Urban contemporary art event, and it will hold a special momentum during NAG 2019. Boaru Alexandra is a graduate of the University of Portsmouth (UK). ???????? ???????????????? ???????? ????????????????????????, ???????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????????????, ???????? ???????????????????????????? ???????? ???????????????????????? is an exhibition devoted to the ways in which the artist can physically relate to the global environmental issues - not by developing a critical or analytical attitude towards her subject of matter, but through an imaginative process of metamorphosis of a human into a plant. ❧ ???????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????? It’s In the human nature to worry about past, present, and future thus making us inclosed within ourselves. To step out of this triangle I decided that I no longer desire to be human and proceed to transcend my species and become a plant. Exploring a speculative metamorphosis was the ‘human’ being becomes the ‘plant’ being, the aim of this work is to try to discard of the torment of being human and embrace the vegetal virtues. The burning desire of giving up any human traits is defined by a series of experiments which are subjected to trial and error as judged by the viewer. To marry a plant and adopt its species, to lay down naked and let your cells do a photosynthesis exercise or to just pretend to be a flower. All of these are just desperate attempts that describe the frustration of the human being for being a human being. The static and calm nature of the experiments, that is resembling the essence of the plant, is meant to put the viewer in a meditative state of rethinking its role within the ecosystem.
