Atelier 030202 Gallery is a platform for contemporary art based in Bucharest (RO), dedicated to young artists, curators, art historians and cultural managers that share a passion for experimentation and innovation in contemporary art. Atelier 030202 Gallery is a non-profit art space hosted in the New Hall of the Comedy Theatre, where artistic events coexist with contemporary theater plays and with art interventions of all kinds such as experimental music, performance art, contemporary dance, video projections, installations and urban art. Through a carefully selected program, the gallery has gained a consistent multicultural visual identity. We have a strong curatorial program, but we welcome challenging and consistent proposals. We are open to partnerships with Romanian and international artists and curators, as well as with other institutions and organisations in the art field. Our numerous projects exhibited at Atelier 030202 Gallery have created a unique identity and a new vibe

”AR(t)EST 2” A project by, with and about people of culture during the isolation. A concept by Andu Dumitrescu, artist. ”Started in full isolation, on April 20, and continued until June 20, AR(t)EST brought together 64 people from the cultural area, visual artists, curators, theater people, filmmakers, musicians, choreographers, writers, journalists, who each expressed their thoughts, by the use of a photo from the period of confinment accompanied by a text. All were published on VAR Association’s FB and Instagram accounts, every day, at a set time. In spite the isolation, the project participants managed to create spectacular visuals. In turn, the cumulated texts, form a map of subjectivities, non-interactive this time, during the pandemic. Together with staying at home in their pyjamas, people seem to have taken off not only their work clothes, but also their social masks. Doomed to isolation, they were forced to reflect on the essentials. A luxury, if we think about the rhythm of the last years. The special conditions of the pandemic brought a certain distance and detachment, strangely mixed with the air of intimacy from everyone's house. At home, we tend to let our guard down. Life consists of details that on the outside would have been considered irrelevant. But the whole results from the personal tone, in which every author comes with his syntax, his rhythm, his interests and his entertainments configures the diary of the community during a pandemic. The honesty, the authenticity, the homey perspective and the passion are adjoining for which, until now, we have not had the necessary context.” Cristina Rusiecki, theatre critic. Within the NAG, the Gallery Atelier 030202 presents the second part of the AR(t)EST project, an escape from the online evironment.
