GALATEEA is one of the art galleries of the Romanian Visual Artists’ Union. It is devoted to promoting the Romanian contemporary ceramic art by encouraging a partnership and joint collaboration projects with similar galleries and international ceramic centers. The exhibition calendar is coordinated by a core group of ceramists that has initiated the process, aiming at creating:
- an art space for launching and promoting younger talented ceramists, presenting well established artists but also paying tribute (homage) to masters;
- an ideal venue for meetings and debates regarding the ceramic art outlook in the current international context and the new concepts in the ceramic art’s relationship with other visual art domains;
- a lively space, generating a dialogue between the artists and the public and capable of making this fascinating art-of-fire known, understood and well-appreciated.

Nicolae Moldovan’s ceramic works become the background of video projections.
The gallery’s nocturnal space is invaded by the street’s diurnal as a starting point of the Urban Prints project.
Video sequences going to be projected over Nicolae Moldovan’s ceramic objects will be captured from the urban space, images that are visually aggressive on us or inducing quotidian attitudes in direct relationship with our intimate emotions.
The public is invited to experience an exercise of re-inventing the dynamic of the urban space.
