We bring back to life a residual space of a former factory and place it as a capsule over time in the form of an art gallery. The exhibition is an overview of the subject of serialism, which when intersecting with the human factor generates rather a rebellion against the mechanism rather than an infinite repetition. The common element of the series is recognizable, but each artist explores, through his own vision, different possible forms. "Series" breaks traditional lines and shows artists from different environments and different areas, gathering under the same roof painting, graphics, sculpture, visual projections, interactive installation and music. The Memory Museum is a long-term educational and cultural project, a civic and ethical initiative which promotes the national patrimony, both tangible and intangible, by means of analyzing crucial historic moments for the socio-historical development of the Romanian people, using technology as a way to connect with the young public. By interrogating the past, the project aims to create links between written and lived history, intending to rebuild the world of its city and community, as it was 100 years ago. In a space of reminiscence and knowledge, the memory becomes a confession and an inquiry of the past. The Memory Museum intends to collect personal histories through an urban activation installation: a series of rotary dial telephones will play illustrative and reconstituted acoustic moments from the 1916-1918 time period. The telephone, the connection between the past and the present, will also offer the possibility for the users to record a message that will be sent to them a year later. This project is part of the program Bucharest- A city of participants and financed by Bucharest City Hall with The Cultural Centre of Bucharest, ArCuB.
