Grotto space resembles to an artificial rock formation, that is reminiscent to primitive caverns, sacred spaces that hold spiritual realms, used as shrines for the obscure worlds. They were often used as ritual spaces because of the associations with the earth itself, becoming a passage to imaginary landscapes. Inside, grottoes were decorated with objects that had mythical symbolism, inspired from nature, rocks, shells, flora, fauna, pieces from an underworld. Once inside, people have their own sensorial experience, searching for an unique connection with the divine. RITUAL RECONSTRUCTION aims to put together components, art pieces and design objects, that build a parallel realm of sensations, that invite one to contemplate and discover. Grotto space will gather art pieces from Giulia Cretulescu, Lorena Cocioni and Muro Muro that will shape an enigmatic territory, that feels both familiar and strange.
