Galateca Gallery is an evolving project, a space that combines live art in all its forms and which aims to develop both applied art exhibitions and multimedia art, and a whole new gallery shop for the local scene and pop-up cultural experiences. Located downtown, in the "Carol I" Central University Library, paces from the National Art Museum and other historical buildings, the gallery benefits from a modern space bearing the signature of architect Radu Teaca.

artist: Simon Henwood
Over two decades, Simon Henwood chose to experience different artistic segments; his works going from paintings to illustrations, sculpture and music, film or animation. His works have been exhibited in the world's most famous galleries, MOMA (NYC), UCLA Hammer Museum (LA), Sophie Sheideker Gallery (Paris) in a dual exhibition signed by Simon Henwood and Francis Bacon. The artist is known for his collaboration with artist Kanye West as creative director for the album "Graduation" and the promotional tour "Glow In the Dark". Also, Henwood also directed the music video "Love Lockdown". In 2009, the artist has worked with Rihanna, creating cover album "Rated R" and working on promotional tour "Last Girl on Earth" where he had a free hand for costumes, visuals and scenography. Among the artists with whom he collaborated: Roisin Murphy, Apollo 440, Badly Drawn Boy, Delays, Devendra Banhart or Imogen Heap and recently, Alicia Keys. When not exercising his function as creative director, Henwood works for his own publishing house, Henwood Library, which pays homage to the artists by publishing books in its collection and special work done for the project. In 2008 the artist published a retrospective of his works in a book called “Paintings And Films and There For The Grace Of God”, released in 2010. The exhibition will include paintings, illustrations, photographs and videos directed by artist and animations, movies.
