Anca Bodea creates personal works that speak of the state of pleasure and enjoyment of material, soft pillows, warm light of day, cold glass, silk shirts and bodily shaped skin. Beyond the joy and the touch, there are falling into folds and creases, there is a move that betrays the elastic material that touched the body. For Anca Bodea each painting is what Gayatri Spivak called a series of indices about "the absence of a present, a story about the present always in the past tense."
