Recent works on paper and canvas (2012-13) are bitter-ironic images about life, death, love, pain, waiting, conflict, confusion, superstition. Between humor, sadness and doubt, they build a fragmentary interior landscape, filling in the role of a dissipated notebook with lots of whiter larger pages, turning yellow over time.
Simona Vilau (b. 1983) is an artist and independent curator who lives and works in Bucharest.
