Founded in 2017, SECTOR 1 GALLERY has developed a program based mainly on exhibiting contemporary artists trained around the strong artistic community in Cluj and on representing a few Post avant-garde Romanian artists. Through the exhibitions it organized, the gallery managed to challenge the fundamental directions of painting, drawing, sculpture and installation / object. Currently, the gallery focuses on the development of a diverse program that (re)presents emerging talents, as well as established artists, Romanian and international.

LES FEMMES DU FEU - group show 22.09.2022 - 03.11.2022 Sector 1 Gallery Curated by Thale Blix Fastvold LES FEMMES DU FEU presents a group of Norwegian and Romanian artists who are all working within the landscape of surrealism, reflecting on the surreal with various mediums and methods and from different viewpoints. The artists in LES FEMMES DU FEU are all women and within the exhibition we are weaving spiderly treads through time and space and creating a collective conversation, from the original surrealist works of Hedda Sterne (1910-2011) and Geta Brătescu (1926-2018) to new works by the contemporary artists Hortensia Mi Kafchin, Ioana Ursa, Tincuța Marin, Codruța Cernea, Marianne Darlén Solhaugstrand, duo Karoline Hjorth & Riitta Ikonen and Ingrid Torvund. This event is part of the project "The enhancement of cultural entrepreneurship and the enlargement of audience through organizing the series of exhibitions About Master and Media, the paradigm of bipolarity in contemporary art”, developed in partnership with VISP, Norway.
