Roman Gallery
Bd. Lascăr Catargiu 1

Since May 2014, a house-monument from the centre of Bucharest became Roman Gallery. It appeared from the desire of the founders to give to the public in Romania and not only, a common space, which carry with them at least a soul and few glances. In Roman Gallery you will find a new perspective that goes beyond the classic exposure, impersonal work of art, a dialogue between the viewer and the artwork, an oasis of beauty and education of the gaze in a world rushed and constantly moving. Here, at Romanian Gallery, you will find decorative art exhibitions, romanian and foreign, classical and contemporary. We intend to organize temporary exhibitions (personal and collective) of romanian and foreign artists, exposure of consecrated artists and to promote emerging romanian and international artistic. Also, there will be organized cultural events, conferences, seminars, debates and presentations editorial, the gallery space is very generous for this kind of events. Located on the Bd. Las

PAINTING – DIGI – PAINTING Georgeta STEFANESCU Galeria Romană is pleased to invite you to a new exhibition: Georgeta STEFANESCU, "PAINTING – DIGI – PAINTING", which can be visited between October 3-29, 2022. The opening will take place on October 4, starting at 7 pm, and the opening speech will be held by Ms. Mariana Dragu, art historian. Bld. Lascăr Catargiu, no. 1, sector 1, Bucharest. The exhibition can also be visited during the White Night of the Galleries 2022 event, under the following schedule: Friday, Sept 30: 18:00 - 23:00, Saturday, Oct 1: 18:00 - 23:00, Sunday, Oct 2: 17:00 - 22:00 Georgeta Stefanescu, visual artist with dual citizenship, Romanian and French, settled in Switzerland since 1992, recognized at international level, continued the search for conceptual art in the sense of formal metamorphosis, less in that of fitting into a specific plastic system. The themes she proposes go beyond the subject of the image and work with all the details of the object, thus playing with the texture, the support and even the medium of expression. "The "Spirits of the Park" exhibition, inspired by the memories and feelings relived in the walks I took around the I.O.R. lakes, the current "Al.I. Cuza" park, and Titan, in the period 2016-2019, continues in the new personal exhibition "PAINTING - DIGI - PAINTING" through the ramifications given by the continuation of the series of subjects, as well as from those of the medium of representation itself. The selection of artworks from the current personal exhibition offers an overview of the rhythm present in my artworks and in my technique: that of an interrogative and permanent oscillation between traditional painting - my paintings from the last 20 years, namely those within the Hazard / Structured theme - and painting on Canvas Print, finishing with traditional painting. The approach, experimentation and use of digital programs are part of a natural continuation of my research, of the interest I have shown throughout my artistic concerns to walk between the borders of the strict rules of the craft and the experiment of contrasts, but also to dialogue with materials and textures that allowed me surprising reflections, the possibility to explore different perspectives. A pleasure of the creative game that came with the study of painting, sculpture, ceramics but also from the position of a scientific researcher on the works made by prints in the 80s - 90s. As early as 2020, with the personal exhibition "Spirites of the Park", the curatorial concept proposed a selection and composition of photographic images following the principles of a film script made up of several distinct parts, determined by techniques and ways of plastic expression. The main idea then started from capturing some "documentary-type photographic images" with the mobile phone, during my walks through the park "Al.I. Cuza", the former I.O.R. and Titan. In the present event, I propose the realization of the same photographic documentary theme as a common subject of digital and traditional painting."
