aiurart is a space dedicated to contemporary art: from painting and sculpture to video art, installations and experimental artistic projects. At the same time, it’s a place where creative and cultural industries like design, advertising or architecture can find a common ground for communication.

Our goal is to create a balance between the projects presented for the first time and the relevant artistic works from recent years gathered in synthesis curatorial projects that involve artists, curators and other galleries.

We hope to make your visits here more enjoyable by bringing together contemporary aesthetics and the cozy feeling of an old house, recently restored by Architect Bogdan Pop and Asdesign 95. Here you can find free wi-fi, a lovely yard, coffee, biscuits, books and international art magazines, a charming lounge and friendly hosts.

Artificial Life

19:00 - 04:00
instalation

artist: Felix Deac
curator: Cosmin Năsui

"I have dedicated a great deal of time to studying form and researching the objective relation between shape and matter, but with moderate success. In return, a new figurative reality, unknown until the genesis experiment, was unveiled to me.

The accurate study of reality and imitation that were inoculated to me during my academic training was both the strong point and the fundamental motivation that stands for this project. If imitation was more demanding, than I tried to depict the object of my study even more accurately. If exigency demanded what was real, then I rendered something surreal. Trespassing the palpable, I began toying with different shapes, guided by a logic of livelihood, trying to make each one of my works as „alive” as possible.

The details and textures are inspired by the real, living world with the purpose of positioning them in a non-anthropomorphic ensemble. My intention is to assign aesthetic qualities to a series of objects and shapes in order to make them seem incredibly „lively”, due to the illusion that I create.
Being alive and the rules of that represent the canons that differentiate these works, but, in my mind, the shapes of livelihood have no limits whatsoever and so I try to extend and liberate the hyperrealistique trend from the chains of representational art and to rephrase the stylistic expression of hyperrealist sculpture into new volumetric shapes, but in an non-anthropomorphic manner.

Through this particular project that I submit and display for the audience I try to incite visceral reactions, and once again, I throw in the game a powerful and sympathetic relationship between the onlooker and the work. “(Felix Deac)

We open an investigation into the dual relationshisp that Art Directors have with their creative side within the project The ARTvertising Agency. Personal Art Projects by Art Directors. Part One. We reveal a body of works belonging to artists within the advertising business but created outside of it. The result is a mosaic of works that reflects somewhat familiar styles which come from the persuasive undertaking of advertising and now lead to a personal approach, a vulnerable area, where the only brief available is that of the artist’s relationship with the world.

Presently there is a lot of talk about sustainability and architecture.
We think that sustainability is a life philosophy that is changing our lifestyle and dramatically reconsidering our relationship with nature.
Humanity, confronted with a global problem, designated sustainability as a global solution.

Nevertheless sustainability belongs rather to the past than to the present in the field of visionary future-telling.

forward when considering the building construction and use during the last 80 – 90 years, it is worth noting that the evolution is linear, comprising of frustratingly small improvements as far as materials, building systems and construction techniques.

A true revolution in architecture is right around the corner, though:  the intelligent sustainable building whose intelligence lays in a key global, interactive and internally regulatory operating platform such as PC’s Windows , intelligent phone’s Android or Smart TV.

About sustainability and intelligent sustainable architecture we are expecting you for our presentation starting with May 25th at aiurart where we are going to continue our experiment from Tokyo – Romanian Pavilion Tokyo UIA 2011.
